WHAT'S BEING TAUGHT IN ROOM 207?
- Social Studies - Students are finishing up the unit on Mesopotamia and will begin delving into the Egyptian civilization right after we return from camp. Using the study guide for review for any of the social studies tests is a great way to prepare for the exam.
- Science - We started the year with our ecology chapter so students would be well prepared for the academic content of their science camp lessons. They will be tested on Chapter 10, the Ecosystem, when they return. Students are working on a technology project for the scientific method.
- Language Arts-My reading class has just completed their first chapter book , Bridge to Terabithia, and will be working on their symbolism project along with their response to literature. In conjunction with this, we have been reading stories from our anthology and working on multiple standards. Next book - - - Number the Stars.
- Math - The number sense lessons of chapters 1 and 2 in our text have been the main thrust since the beginning of the year. Integers, order of operations, and fractions are currently being taught, and students MUST know their facts in order to progress at a normal rate.
